She was born in the family of Brian O'Sullivan, the actress has one sibling named Sinead. In 2012, she became the first woman ever to receive the So You Think You Are Funny award. Bea was awarded the award to commemorate her father's passing. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who died by suicide aged three. She did not learn the cause for her father's death until thirteen years later. She chose the stage name Bea in honor of her late father. Bea also wrote an article published in The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea, along with her younger sister Sinead was raised in the home of Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) who was a jockey as well as a teacher at a secondary school. They were both passionate about racing, horses and the racing industry. Bea was a trainer for The Irish National Stud in her early days. She knew, however, that racing wasn't what she wanted to do for a living and that she was more interested in performing.
